Flex based Mazda used car locator
We launched another flex application a few days ago.
It is a user car locator for Mazda UK and is meant to be a rich user experience for finding an approved user car.
View it at Mazda used cars by selecting the Rich Experience option.
It is power by Flex and ColdFusion technologies.

Great app! I’m actually looking out for a car, so have had a chance to use the locator ‘for real’, and found it easy to use, no confusion at all! There was one tiny issue with the list based controls, which would show a vertical scroll bar, which would then dissappear when I clicked it to scroll down (I’m running 10,0,22,87 of debug player on OSX).
One question – did you have to re-skin all of the components, or could you achieve the visual effect purely by using styles? (or both?).

I saw the disappearing scroll bar too. OSX Tiger, 10.something player.
I really like the transition when sorting the list. (I’m one of those look! shiny! people at heart!
Overall it looks and works well. I didn’t explore a lot so missed many of the details that a real customer would use.
Might want to add a ‘spinner’ for when the photo/slideshow is loading up.
Good work!

Yep that display issue is known to us. It is caused by the combination of a bug in the Flex SDK and the way we had to create the custom effects for the list box.
@Fred
Cheers mate – The skining is both CSS, Bitmap and Flash assets. It was a lot of work, probably about 30% of total build time!
